Rules of Hereford City Ladies' Skittles League

1. DESIGNATION. The combination of clubs shall be called ' HEREFORD City LADIES SKITTLE LEAGUE' and shall consist of any number of clubs the Annual General Meeting shall determine.                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

2. Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in July. Any points to be raised at the meeting must be sent in writing to the Secretary to arrive  by 1st July, The representatives attending tche Annual Meeting shall appoint the officers. 

3. The League. shall be managed by a Commiteeof Ten Members who shall be elected at the Annual General General Meeting and shell hold office for five years. In case of non-attendace and no apology, a member shall cease to be a member of the Executive Committee. The Committee shall be presided over by the Chairman, elected at the General Metting; such Chairman to have casting vote on all questions on which the Committe are equally divided. Members of this Committee are eligible for re-election on expiration of their term of office.

4. Subscription. That an Annual Subscription shall be £5.00 The Leaugue may also order a match (or matches) to be played each season, the proceeds to be devoted to the funds of the league, or call upon each club to contribute equally such sums as they may deem advisable. The amount of the entrance fee and the time of payment shall be fixed by the league at each Annual Meeting. Every member signing a League form shall play a Registration Fee of £3.50, the monies accruiting from same to be devoted to the League Funds for prizes and expenses in the League.

5. The Championship. At the end of each Competition, the Club scoring the highest number of points shall be declared the Champion Club of the League. In the event of a tie the team with the highest number of away wins shall be Champions. (If teams tie on away wins the highest number of away pins scored shall decide Champions).

6. Committee Members. The Secterary shall covene meeting of the Commitee whenever necessary.

7. Teams with one or more players. short after names have been entered on board shall put the names of players present in a hat and the opposing Captain will draw up to two names out. This must be done before the start of the match.

8. Lineswoman. If either Captain requests a lineswoman the opposing Captain must agree.

9. 'Cush'. A ball must strike the alley before crossing the white line,and having crossed the line.shall be considered in play; a ball striking the 'cush' after crossing of the line shall be considered a dead ball with pins put up again; line to be two inches wide.

10. Date of Matches. All matches mustbe played on or before the date fixed. If it is quite impossible to do so the game must be played within four weeks or before the end of the season which evercomes first. by mutual conset with the opposing side (both teams to have an equal number of players). Nofine. Only teams failing to turn up for a game to be fined. Points to be claimed by opposing team.

11.Transfer. A Player requiring transfer must apply to the League Secretary for a transfer form. the charge for which shall sall be 50p. if the player obtains the signature of her own Secretary andthat of the Secrerary of the Club for which she wishes to play, the leauge Secretary shall grant the transfer, If the players Club Secretary objects to the transfer, the matter shall be dealt with by the next meeting of the League, when the player must be present to state her case for the transfer, No transfer shall  be sanctioned after December 31st. A player transferred shall be eligible for her new club 24 hours after the transfer is granted. All players must be registered with mones to the League Treasurer 24 hours before  the start of the match. No player shall represent a team unless this has been done.

12. Communications. All communications must be addressed to the Secretary, who shall conduct the correspondence of the League. Upon receiving a requisition, signed by the members of the League, the Secretary shall convene a Special Meeting.

13. Results. the results of each match and names of the players who took part in the game shall be deposited at the Headquarters. RICHMOND CLUB or  send through  WhatsApp, Messenger to the Fixture Secretary. These mustbe received by 3pm Friday following the match. Failure to do so will lose one point. (Money must not be included with result sheets).

14. Time to Start. All gamesmust commenceat 8.00 pm. Ten players to be on the alleyby 8.15 pm. game to start although opposing team may not be ready. NOTE: Captains should not to be too lax regards players bowling in and out.

15. THE ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION MAY BE PAID ON OR BEFORE THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. TEAMS CONNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTERWARDS. FAILURE TO HAVE A TEAM REPRESENTATIVE AT THE AGM WILL RESULT IN A £20 FINE WHICH THE TEAM CAPTAIN IS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY.

16. The Pins. That all pins on the alley be of uniform size and that No 1 pin be placed in front, No 2 on right of the front pin, No 3 on left of the front pin with No 4 at the rear looking from the player's end, andthat no other pin, other than those to be played with that night, shall remain on the alley.

17. PLAY Off. Rule 5 shall apply.

18. No male visitor to mark the score board or interfere in any way with the games. 

19. No player shall leave the premises without the consent of the two  captains, once the match has commenced.

20. No player eligible under 14 years of age.

21. No teams to change allyeys after the Annual Meeting without consuliting the Committee.

22. Highest Individal Average: Players must have played 50% plus one of the season's League games to qualify.

23. Trophies to be returned to League Secretary at Captains Meetings in March. Failure to do so incurs a £10.00 fine. Teams falling to collect Trophies at the Annual Dinner will be fined £15.00 per trophy. Winners are responsible for the return of cups in good  condition. Any repairs must be paid for by the team.

24. FAILURE TO HAVEA TEAM REPRESENTATIVE AT THE CAPTAINS MEETING WILL RESULT IN A £5.00 FINE
